BBC - Free at last
The goal
Following from our previous work with the BBC, we were asked to produce an educational mini-site detailing one of the most troubled periods in American history. The site was to deal sensitively with the issues of race relations in America during the period of 1918 to 1968, a time the fight for the rights to equal education, employment and treatment cost many people their jobs, freedom and even their lives.
The solution
We designed and developed a teaching/learning aid the met the needs of the national curriculum in this subject and presented the information in a way that was easy and fun to digest. By providing both a flash and html solution we made sure that the site met the BBCs strict requirements on accessibility and interoperability.
The result
The result has been extremely well received and was featured on the BBC education homepage shortly after launch. It gives students a deeper understanding of the surrounding issues and presents it in a format that is easy to digest and learn from.
